Washington County has it all: location, natural resources, and a workforce second-to-none in skills and ethic. What we don’t have is the good-paying jobs to go with it. Electra Janis will work to reverse that, with improved efficiency in government and an economic development outreach to attract new businesses and help existing ones to grow.

People have a right to know everything that’s going on in the county government. Sunlight is the best disinfectant and Electra Janis will throw open the Courthouse curtains to let people see what their elected officials are doing. It’s called the “right to know,” not the “privilege.” 

Taxpayers should know that every penny that comes out of their pocket goes toward making their lives better by improving their community, providing vital services, and creating a vibrant, job-rich economy. Electra Janis knows that a good job is better than a new tax. She’ll oppose new taxes and wasteful spending.

American democracy hinges on the faith of the people. That means elections they can trust with results they can believe. As Commissioner, Electra Janis will work to make certain every vote is counted and every voter is eligible. It’s simple: you protect the integrity of the election so democracy can function.
